2003 Members Tour
CENTRAL DIVISION NEWS FROM CLIFF:
The Florida Cattlemen's Assn. was our home for our Jan meet. It is a new
cracker style bldg., housing offices, director's meeting room, banquet meeting
room with a full kitchen, walk around porch and covered picnic area. Thank you
Mr. Jim Handley for allowing us to use this great facility and to Wynona Tavernier
and Maryanne Glaese for getting permission to use this building.
Approximately 35 members enjoyed this great day, with the Sheldon family
really scoring big by roping in all but one of the raffle prizes. Jackie Sheldon
furnished meat balls for our subs and everyone brought plenty of fixings and
favorite dishes to share. A big thank you to everyone for helping to set up the
Club's RR to run and tables and chairs for dining and visiting. It was nice to see
some of our members out and getting better after surgery, Frank and Barbara
Kimmel and Faith Kroto. So good to see you back up and around.
In addition to the running of the Club's engine, Fred Ried brought his new
Coca Cola engine and a few coke cars to run. It runs and sounds great. Also
ChooChoo Green ran his home modified diesel engine with self installed lights and
sound. Maybe we could get ChooChoo to write a few articles for our newsletter
on the many models and innovations he has made in model railroading.
ChooChoo is another great talent we have in FGRS.
