Florida Garden Railway Society's

February 2003 Members Tour

February 9, 2003
The SouthWest Division has decided to do a little philanthropic project.
The club has donated the necessary materials and some of the members
are furnishing the labor. We are installing an overhead two track setup
at
Gabriel House. Only three of us were able to make it last Saturday
but it looks like we will have five guys to finish the project this Saturday.
We did get three of the four walls done and have some of the track
already laid up there. I don't know how to explain The Gabriel House
except to say go there and get an idea of what it is like.

I was really impressed with what they are doing. I would have liked to
take pictures of some of the kids but felt just a little embarrased to ask.
They are kids that people don't want and are the happiest
kids you ever saw. One little girl has no legs and is a real motivator to
watch her get around. She has some things that look a little like feet
sticking out but they are useless..
