Florida Garden Railway Society's

SEPTEMBER 2006 Members Tour

September 17, 2006

Jay & Melinda ARCHER hosted the September meet for the Tampa Bay Division.
The Archer's meet was a HOT September afternoon in Dunedin; but Jay and Melinda had
some pretty COOL things to show off to about 50 FGRS members from all 3 Divisions.
We were treated to a vision of the Key West Div. of the Florida East Coast Railroad
complete with a description of future expansion.  Jay & Melinda have created quite a bit
of railroading in a small space. The planned expansion should help take up the rest of the
back and side yards. Many scratch built structures were in evidence and some of the work
was done by Jays’ 89 year old Grandfather – WOW – what a way to stay active.
