Florida Garden Railway Society's

OCTOBER 6, 7 & 8 2006 Members Tour

October 6,7 & 8th, 2006

Every year the SMRC (Sarasota Model Railroad Club) puts a show on at the
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens
in Sarasota..

This year it was held on the first weekend in October 6,7,8. There was a large display of
G scale trains running thru and around the Banyan trees, approx 700 feet of track and 9 trains.
There were 7 main line trains and 2 point to point routes under the shade of several huge banyon
trees.

Dick Oldenburg and Dick Miller made arrangements with Selby Gardens to let members of the FGRS
in at half price. It was a great display of trains on a beautiful weekend.  The layout covered just
about every inch of space of the Banyon Trees.  If you didn't get a chance to see this spectacular
design, you really missed the train on this one....  Here are some photos  of the  Garden.
