Florida Garden Railway Society's

FEBRUARY 2007 Members Tour

February 16th & 17th, 2007

The SouthEast LasrgeScale Train Show held at the Fairgrounds in Perry, GA.

   A group of  12  FGRS  Tampa Bay Members traveled to Perry to join forces with the
Emerald Coast Garden Railway Society to participate with 3 other groups in the exhibition
portion of the second South East Large Scale Train Show. It may have been cold outside;
but the exhibits were all cookin’.

   We teamed up to put together a display that was 45’ x 70’ with 3 outside mainlines and
the middle section filled with many of the features we use at local shows. In addition to the
mainlines, the Emerald Coast club set up staging yards with a multiplicity of switches and had
well over 125 pieces of rolling stock ready to take to the mainline (these were in addition to
the long trains already running). All together we probably had over 200 pieces of rolling stock
on display. The figure 8 over-and-under was a big hit in the interior section.
We had 9 trains running at one point with 8 running regularly both days.
It was great to get together with another Florida club and make new friends in the process.
