APRIL 2007 Members Tour

April 28-29, 2007

       The Tampa Bay Division setup shop at The Green Thumb festival at Walter Fuller Park

The Green Thumb Festival held April 28-29 was a resounding success! It was our 10th
consecutive year displaying garden railroading with the Festival.  It all began on Fiday
afternoon when  several Tampa Bay members showed up at Walter Fuller Park to help
set up what many have called our best outdoor display, to date. It took a lot of effort;
but the results were well worth it. Under the watchful eye of Don Odle (set up guru)
the track was laid, a portable display was installed, waterfalls put into place and rock tunnels
along with other rocks and boulders were positiond to create interesting scenes throughout
the display.
Saturday and Sunday saw great weather for the Festival.  Numerous members brought
additional buildings and scenery to enhance the railroad. They also brought trains and more
trains to run. There was never a lack of trains of varying sizes and lengths to capture the
attention of those in attendance. Many visitors to the display commented very favorably
on what we had presented. Even the Festival folks helped in providing a banner with both
the Festival and FGRS logos prominently displayed.<>
