FEBRUARY
2008 Members Tour
Pete & Shirly SMITH hosted the February meet for the Tampa Bay Division.
WOW! On 2/24, Hazeltown, along the P&S Central RR, experienced a population explosion a 106
members & guests as the FGRS gathered for the joint meet of the Tampa Bay, Central and South West Divisions.
Pete & Shirley Smith and their able-bodied gandy dancers did an amazing job of hosting a record turnout.
We are grateful to all members of the FGRS, friends, relatives and youngsters of all ages for coming out and
making this meet such a success. There was an outstanding array of cuisine for everyone to enjoy.
The joint raffle was one of significant proportions with many items contributed by our hosts and other members.
The Show n’ Tell, once again, highlighted the craftsmanship of our member – thanks to our contributors!
And who could forget the clinic presented by “Rusty” Pete Smith…….
Another measure of fun and enjoyment was the number of folks who stayed after the meeting to learn more
about battery-powered operations. Thanks, we couldn’t have done it without you.
