MARCH 2008 Members Tour

March 30th, 2008

Bruce & Joanne BOYLE hosted the meet for the Tampa Bay Division.

On Sunday, March 30th, 80+ FGRS members and guests were treated to the opening of
the Boyle Street Station at Bruce & Joanne Boyle’s house in Clearwater.
The station was built by the Boyles and recreates a 1:1 scale train platform in their backyard.
Arriving at the station was an all wooden train that some adults and all the kids could sit and play
on while we enjoyed the changes and enhancements made to the G scale railroad.
Gone was the wild game preserve; but in its place was a new farm scene complete with a crop of
corn and pumpkins growing behind the house. Several other changes were in evidene as we saw a
new group of buildings including a custom-built fruit/vegetable stand (by Pete Smith) complete
with many varieties of farm produce and a pickup delivering a load of fresh eggs.
Additionally, there was the new curved, aluminium  trestle Neil Bradshaw built for the curve
just before the tunnel on the mainline.
