MAY
8th, 2008
Jay & Melinda ARCHER held the May meet for the Tampa Bay Division.
It was a warm and humid day in Dunedin as Jay & Melinda Archer hosted the Tampa Bay
May meet on the 18th. The weather was balmy like Key West and remained dry for the
entire meet despite threatening rain. We were treated to see the progress made on two
new islands being readied to link up with the original railway which will, eventually, wrap from
the back yard around the side of the house and continue to points beyond.
Thanks to a great deal of preparation the railway operated flawlessly making this
Florida East Coast Railroad – Key West extension a treat to see.
Thanks go out to those who brought something for Show n’ Tell. We enjoyed the variety
of work by our members. Everything from the Blue Cow Creamery, FEC rolling stock,
a small cottage, engine shed and a sneak-peek of a trestle under construction had something
unique about the construction. Don Sheetz promised to present a clinic later to demonstrate
his technique for building the trestle on his new railroad.Click on the Photo to start the GALLERY... Enjoy!
