The Tampa Bay October meet
at Gary and Diane Davis’
house featured a lot of hand-crafted
trestles and bridges. Nearly 50 FGRS members and guests took the
pleasant drive to Polk County
to enjoy this “First-Time” meet. And, as usual, we were treated to
another fine array of foods
which featured venison in one of the main dishes.
Thanks
to Gary for putting on the clinic on tunnel building. Gary shared his
easy as 1-2-3 method
to construct the bridges featured on his Southern FPL Railroad.
Remember
the Show n ‘Tell items that Gary brought to us this past summer? Well –
there were
even more to see on the railroad. Great use of hardware cloth!
It
was good to see some of our seasonal members back in time to enjoy this
meet. Welcome Back!
We want to also thank those members who brought some
well-crafted trains and scenes for
the Show n ‘Tell. How about those Halloween specials!!! Can’t wait to
see what we will have for
the Christmas meet.
We told you that RaffleMeister Bruce might have something special for
the Raffle –
and he sure did! Two raffle prizes were a pair of tickets (each) to
ride the Florida Gulf
Coast Tourist Railroad in Parrish. Thanks Bruce!
