I had the "Hawthorn Railroad" in Barrington Hills, IL. It was track powered with remote control, built on a hillside, so many trestles. It was about 350' of track. It also passed under our gazebo. I also had a raised railroad around our family room, about a 90' loop with 2 sidings. I am in the process of building a new layout outdoor in Sarasota. The challenges of building in Florida are sure different than in Illinois! I brought everything to Florida, including all the trestle bents I constructed in IL, and all the trains. I plan to do more this fall/winter, including local layouts.
